The Story
Most work trousers pick a side. These don't.
Formal trousers look right and feel like a punishment after four hours at a desk. Soft ones are comfortable and read as pyjamas the moment you stand up in a meeting. Nobody who sits and thinks for a living is served well by either.
So this is a proper twill — enough weight to hold a line down the leg — with three percent elastane worked in so the fabric moves when you cross your legs and returns when you stand. Structure where it shows, give where it doesn't.

Nine hours, seated
A touch of elastane and a slightly higher rise mean no waistband digging in and no fabric straining across the thigh when you sit.
It reads formal enough
Mid-weight twill, a clean waistband and blind hems put it comfortably on the right side of a client meeting — without a suit's rigidity.
It works with everything
Charcoal and sandstone both sit inside the capsule palette, so either pairs with either shirt and either tee. No thinking required.
Fabric & construction
The diagonal is doing the work.
Twill is woven on a diagonal rather than a straight grid, which is why it resists creasing, drapes downward rather than standing away from the leg, and wears far longer than a plain weave at the same weight.
At 255 GSM it has real substance without heat. The three percent elastane is there for recovery, not stretch — enough that the knee doesn't bag out by afternoon and the trouser returns to its own shape when you stand.
